Highline Ranch sits in the Tongue River Basin in one of the best climates for ranching you could want in the West. Receiving between 18-23” of precipitation per year, this ranch grows excellent grass for cattle and great feed and cover for wildlife. This is why the trail herds from Texas came to this area.
The climate around the general area and region is one of the most “live-able” climates around with pleasant summers and moderate winters. Perhaps it’s the proximity to the 45th parallel along with the positioning near to the Big Horn Mountains and the lower altitude, but this area has a surprisingly great climate for ranching.
